EGL or EGA?

Have you known about the difference between Elegant Gothic Lolita and Elegant Gothic Aristocrat if you call yourself a fanatic of gothic lolita fashion? If not, come with me to study the basics of EGL and EGA.

Elegant Gothic Lolita, sometimes shortened to EGL, is an off-shoot Lolita fashion popularized by Japanese musician and fashion designer Manna, featuring darker make-up and clothing. Be worthy of noticing, the name "EGL" applies only to clothes in the Gothic Lolita style, not Lolita fashion in general, which is commonly mistaken as the blanket term for Lolita fashion and Gothic Lolita in Western Lolita culture.

Another term EGA or Elegant Gothic Aristocrat differs from EGL. EGA is the style imitating mostly the mature of decadence of the late Victorian era, with emphasis on simplicity and elegance, sometimes consisting of black and white, dark colors and natural tones with delicate detailing, lace trimmings, which is completed with black, clunky boots and heavy makeup.

EGL differs from EGA in that it is an androgynous line of fashion that caters to both sexes and is generally considered to be more mature counterpart. Otherwise, compared with EGL, Elegant Gothic Aristocrat is less lacy and of layer with too puffy skirt, a little similar to classic Lolita.
